This is so amazing and exciting! I'd be thrilled if we got something like any of these in our corner of SW London and am sharing the Manchester examples with my friends based there

Glad you share my enthusiasm! Yes, I would too. It's within the realms of possibility - there are a lot of very cool reuse things emerging right now. Watch this space!

Excellent. I definitely see how marketing a decluttering opportunity would appeal to people who wouldn't be interested in a sustainability angle

I've found that at least a proportion of the charities that put collection bags through doors and then pick up the stuff later, don't have shops, so where does the stuff go? Maybe they're using the stuff in their work but I suspect that some ends up overseas and not necessarily in a good way.

That is a very valid question! And I have also heard bad stories about things being disposed of irresponsibly through rogue collections. I know round here we're covered for collections by https://anglodoorstepcollections.co.uk/charities/ who seem legit and the British Heart Foundation, Emmaus (an amazing charity) and Traid for starters. I think the beauty of KindCycle is that collection providers are checked out first - the ones on the website are of a similar ilk: https://kindcycle.uk/wastenot/ferrylane/furniture

I'll make a note of Kindcycle, that seems like a very useful resource.

We live very close to several second hand shops, so that's where I always take stuff, but I know many people don't have that option as easily.

I recently had to do a house clearance when a friend died and used British Heart Foundation to remove all the furniture etc and they did a good job.

and genius that packaging this as a decluttering opportunity rather than a worthy sustainability action is going to get a much bigger dopamine response...

I know, right? I think it’s a very exciting idea to expand!
